HIV-free Generation Ice-cream Project

CASD provides a youth-friendly space in the form of a mobile clinic for girls ages 11 to 19 to access quality and age-appropriate SRH information, services, and referrals free of stigma and coercion.
This is CASDs way of providing accurate information and services on Sexual and Reproductive health to the millions of girls in Cameroon who need it to make the right choices about their sexuality. Through this, they can prevent unwanted pregnancies, dangerous childbirth, Unsafe abortions, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) that could otherwise be their fate without the appropriate SRH education.
As girls come to buy ice cream from the Mobile Van, trained counselors engage them in discussions on SRH topics and distribute educational brochures on family
planning with a phone hotline number that youth can call for additional SRH information. Counselors also hand out membership cards that facilitate access to a local clinic and enable client follow-up by the project team.

In 2015, CASD, through this Project, we reached out to 10,011 adolescent girls & 2,185 boys, engaged with one partner and four volunteers, and trained 12 Community Health Workers.
